The River Vale school district is very small. There are only two small elementary schools and they share Pascack Valley High School with Hillsdale.

River Vale has public water and gas. There is no industrial area, the only area River Vale has is between River Vale Rd. and Westwood Ave. where you can find about 30 stores including a supermarket, gas station and many little restaurants. River Vale has a beautiful golf course and catering hall.
