The Borough of Park Ridge, incorporated in 1894, is a 2.6sq mile residential community located in the north-central part of Bergen County. It is part of a nine-town community known as the Pascack Valley. Montvale, Woodcliff Lake, Hillsdale and River Vale border the Borough.

In 1990 the population was at 8,102, and the 2000 census estimate is approximately 8,500.

Park Ridge is one of the only 9 municipalities in New Jersey to own and operate utilities that supply both water and electricity to its residents.

Today Park Ridge has two elementary schools and one high school. These schools are set up to provide education for half of the town per elementary school. The high school provides education for the entire town.

Park Ridge has many businesses in their "Bears Nest" area. These companies include Marriott Corporation, Sony Corporation, Hertz Corporation and National Utilities Services.
